No, it's definitely not a joke. In honor of her 125th career change, Mattel opened up voting to the masses for what her new careers in 2010 should be. Winners? News Anchor Barbie and Computer Engineer Barbie!
Reportedly comes with laptop, glasses, Bluetooth headset, and a laptop travel bag all in true geek chic flare. I personally love her jacket and its little circuit pattern.
The concept is really great and Mattel worked closely with the Society of Women Engineers and the National Academy of Engineering to develop her wardrobe and accessories. Still, she doesn't look like any computer engineers that I know. =P
CUTE! I want to be HER>
ReplyDeleteYAY! Thank God the masses didn't vote for "19, married, and Christian" Barbie. I would've died.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great step forward. Kudos to Mattel for finally listening to what women want - as a mom, I would TOTALLY give my daughter Computer Engineer Barbie :)
