Post-It Note Tuesday
I still haven't figured out what to use the purple post-its for yet... I've only got pink, green, and yellow color-coded for things so far. =P

Happy Friday!
(via icanread)
I'm looking forward to dinner tonight with my bff (the "b" temporarily standing for "bride"), the Village Venture (Arts & Crafts Faire in the Claremont Village), and giving a speech at Master Motivators, my Toastmasters club!
What are you guys up to this weekend?

A Guide to Food Photography
Look what I found! An amazing walk-through on how to do food photography from Matt Wright, at wrightfood!
Matt talks about camera choices, image formats, and most importantly lighting and composition in this thorough how-to, which really only covers the basics of photography! Thanks Matt!
Me, I'm still using my little Canon PowerShot (which I love, actually) but I'm definitely going to make good use of the tips on lighting.

Suburbian Bunny
On my way out to pilates this morning, I found this little friend at the edge of my driveway!
The only wild bunnies I've ever seen in a city are the little brown ones (mostly on college campuses and in parks) and I was all the more surprised because my area is really sparse when it comes to woodland creatures, so I'm thinking this may be someone's pet.

Duct Tape Queen of Hearts
Geeks love their duct tape - even to the point of buying duct tape wallets (or DIY if you are true to the art) and creating duct tape prom outfits with grand prize scholarships.
Check out this amazing Queen of Hearts dress from appropriately-named Deviant Artist Duck Tape Bandit (also the dress model).
If You Were Stranded on A Deserted Island...
At Toastmasters, there is a section of the meeting called "Table Topics," which focuses on impromptu short answers (1-2 minute answers). I was called on last week to answer the question "If you were stranded on a deserted island, what would you bring with you to help you endure the time?"
I started off my answer with my usual quip about how I always disliked this question because I thought the obvious would be to bring a boat so I could get the heck off the island! And yes, I guess I would need water and food and fresh clothes and things to make fire with...
But since the question was about what would help me endure the time on the island, I finally answered that I would bring Clement. There isn't anything or anyone else that could keep me entertained for an indefinite amount of time. I guess that's what happens when you're with your best friend. Although, a computer with high-speed internet would help pass the time too...
Do you have or have heard unusual answers to this question?

Post-It Note Tuesday
It's raining here in California today, which is both much-needed and a cause for concern. And it's supposed to be 80 again by Friday. That is CA weather for ya...

goodreads
(image by Briana Voltz, via the tidal rabbit)
A friend just invited me to goodreads, which is a really neat little website where you can track and review books you've read, get your friends' recommendations, and manage reading lists! You can even win free copies of pre-release books!
It's perfect for anyone who can never keep track of their reading list (like me) and have a hard time finding recommendations as well.

Post-It Note Tuesday
I'm doing Post-It Note Tuedays now! Found out about this cute idea from Ali at The Way I See It, who got it downstream from Supah Mommy!
Supah Mommy's spiel on the Post-It Note Tuesdays:
"Why bother spewing verbal vomit when you can sum it all up in one neat little post it note?
They can be fun, lighthearted, notes to self, to do lists or just plain bitch notes left for others. Your choice. Get creative."
Here are mine for today:
MASH
Hey, remember MASH? That good 'ol pen-and-paper time killer where we tried to see what kind of house we'd live in, which spouse we'd marry (or divorce, in some versions), what car we'll drive, and how many kids we'd have?
Well, now it's also online or in a handy iPhone application mode!
